Welcome to The Light, where we pause together and let the day breathe.
Drew Robinson played baseball for the San Francisco Giants, and every time an injury sent him down to the minors, a quiet darkness followed. Will I be replaced? That question, so human and so heavy, reminds us how deeply we tie our worth to what we do rather than who we are.
From that inner struggle, we move to something built in community. Students at Austin Christian University won one hundred twenty thousand dollars at Gloo's two thousand twenty six AI Hackathon, claiming the grand prize for the second year running, and dedicating their win to an injured classmate. Technology and tenderness, it turns out, are not opposites.
And then there is this, arriving from deep time itself. Scientists have discovered a prehistoric insect with remarkable mouthparts, elaborate and strange, yet the creature ate only plants. Nature, it seems, sometimes builds formidable tools simply for the quiet work of living gently.
That is this hour's reflection. Carry the light gently.
