Grain markets staged a broad rally on Tuesday, with corn, soybeans, and wheat all closing sharply higher. Corn futures gained six to nearly eleven cents across most contracts, supported by record August export data showing seven point four two two million metric tons shipped. Soybeans led the complex, with front months surging as much as twenty-two and a quarter cents, pushing the national cash price to twelve dollars and forty-seven and a half cents, while soymeal added to the strength on the back end of the session.
Cattle markets joined the commodity surge, with live cattle futures climbing nearly four to more than five dollars higher across the board. Cash trade has yet to develop this week following last week's northern live sales at two hundred twenty to two hundred twenty-two dollars and southern trade at two hundred twenty-six. Feeder cattle outpaced the move, gaining six sixty to nearly nine sixty on the session.
Shifting to geopolitics, Mexico's President Claudia Sheinbaum is showing signs of losing patience with Washington. US sanctions targeting officials with alleged cartel ties have drawn sharp pushback from the president, who faces mounting pressure from the Trump administration on multiple fronts, signaling a cooling in what had been carefully managed bilateral relations.
