Paris Johnson's season is done before it ever really got started. The Cardinals' starting left tackle suffered a bicep tear during Sunday's game, tried to gut it out on the field, and was ultimately pulled. Head coach Mike LaFleur confirmed the news Monday, and Johnson is headed to injured reserve. At just twenty-four years old and fresh off a position switch from right guard, the timing couldn't be worse for Arizona's offensive line.
Shifting to Kansas City, wide receiver Tyquan Thornton is facing a significant stretch on the sideline after dislocating his left ankle. Sources told NFL Network to expect a twelve to sixteen week recovery window, which puts his return somewhere deep into the regular season at the earliest. The Chiefs will need to absorb that loss at receiver while staying in the thick of the AFC title picture.
And in San Francisco, linebacker Dre Greenlaw had a message for his former head coach after the Forty-Niners handled the Broncos twenty-four to fourteen. Greenlaw walked straight up to Sean Payton during the postgame handshake line and told him in no uncertain terms to get off his field. Greenlaw later explained the moment publicly, and let's just say there's some history there that clearly hasn't faded.
