The NBA expansion race is heating up, and Vegas appears to be pulling ahead of Seattle in the sprint toward two new franchises. As thirty teams tip off training camps this week, league insiders suggest Las Vegas could land the thirty-first spot first, with Seattle's timeline pushed back as ownership and arena details remain unresolved ahead of the two thousand twenty-six to twenty-seven target season.
Across the Atlantic, Manchester City is swinging back hard. The Premier League giants confirmed Friday they've filed a comprehensive appeal following a damning independent commission report detailing large-scale financial rule-breaking. City isn't going quietly — the club's statement was short but firm, pushing back on multiple grounds against what could become the most consequential verdict in English football history.
And in the NFL, Trevor Lawrence has a ghost he can't shake. The Jacksonville signal-caller enters Sunday's Week four matchup against Cincinnati oh-and-three all-time against the Bengals — the only AFC team he's never beaten. The numbers look fine, sixty-six percent completions, five touchdowns, two interceptions across those three games. But Lawrence has zero wins to show for it, and that changes this weekend or it doesn't.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
