Soybeans took the hardest hit in the grain complex today, with contracts falling seventeen to thirty and three quarter cents across the board as beans were conspicuously left off China's tariff exemption list following last week's US-China trade talks. The national cash bean price settled at twelve dollars and thirty-two cents, down nearly thirty cents on the session.
Corn felt the pressure too but showed more resilience, posting losses of one to five and a half cents before pulling back from early lows at the close. Cash corn landed at four dollars and seventy-nine and three quarter cents. The divergence between the two crops reflects how precisely traders are reading Beijing's exemption choices.
Meanwhile in the technology space, Samsung is committing one billion dollars to Helix, the AI infrastructure firm backed by Nvidia and KKR, alongside five Samsung affiliates. The move signals that the global buildout of AI infrastructure is accelerating well beyond American borders, with Korean capital now anchoring a significant piece of that architecture.
