Good morning, you're tuned in to Markets Desk.
Bond markets are refusing to give Wall Street a break. Yields pushed relentlessly higher again Monday, and the pressure is landing squarely on tech stocks, which have already absorbed significant punishment. The question traders are asking is simple: at what point does the cost of capital become too heavy a weight for growth names to carry?
That stress is showing up across fixed income instruments as well. The iShares Core U.S. Aggregate Bond ETF, one of the broadest measures of the investment-grade bond market, crossed into oversold territory Monday, touching as low as ninety-four dollars and forty-eight cents. When AGG starts flashing oversold signals, it tells you the selling in bonds has been broad, sustained, and indiscriminate.
Away from the rate story, AMD is making a significant bet on artificial intelligence infrastructure, agreeing to acquire World Labs, the AI firm co-founded by Stanford's Fei-Fei Li, in a deal valued at eight point two billion dollars. AMD had already held an investment stake in the company. This acquisition signals AMD's intent to compete not just on chips, but on the full AI stack, putting it more directly in the crosshairs of rivals like Nvidia.
That's the tape. Markets Desk, signing off the floor.
