Anthropic has signed one of the more unusual infrastructure deals we've seen in a while, committing eleven point six billion dollars to Akamai's cloud platform over seven years, with potential to reach around twenty billion. In return, Akamai is offering Anthropic an equity stake of up to five percent, growing as Anthropic spends more. It's a bet on CPU-based infrastructure at a moment when everyone else is racing toward GPUs.
On the security front, Google has built an AI agent called PageBreak that hunts vulnerabilities inside its own web applications. The system finds and verifies real bugs autonomously, which matters because the bigger problem right now isn't finding flaws — it's filtering out the enormous noise of false positives that AI-generated security reports tend to produce. PageBreak appears designed to solve exactly that.
And over in China, Alibaba has unveiled its Zhenwu V nine hundred AI chip, claiming it can scale to clusters of five hundred thousand cards and delivers three times the performance of its predecessor. The catch is notable — Alibaba disclosed no raw performance figures, no power data, and no manufacturing details, making independent comparison to Nvidia nearly impossible for now.
