Rob Pelinka addressed the elephant in the room Thursday, confirming that LeBron James has parted ways with the Los Angeles Lakers, and he wants the world to know it ended on good terms. Pelinka called it amicable, expressed gratitude for everything LeBron brought to the franchise, and quickly pivoted to the future — a younger, deeper roster built around Luka Doncic and a philosophy of connectivity that head coach JJ Redick says defines championship-level teams.
