The concentration risk hiding inside supposedly diversified portfolios is getting harder to ignore. Meanwhile, prediction markets platform Kalshi is pushing the regulatory envelope, asking the CFTC to permit margin trading on its exchange. The move is a direct play for institutional participation, since professional traders expect leverage as a baseline condition. How the CFTC responds will signal just how far event contract exchanges are allowed to evolve toward something resembling traditional financial markets.
