Monday Night Football ended ugly for New York, and it got worse as the night went on. The Rams dismantled the Giants twenty-eight to six, but the real story was Jaxson Dart going down on the first drive with what's believed to be a sprained MCL. Jameis Winston stepped in and looked overmatched, the Giants finished with just one hundred eighty-two yards of total offense, and then late in the fourth quarter both Brian Burns and Andrew Thomas picked up injuries to cap off an absolutely brutal evening in East Rutherford.
The silver lining for Big Blue, if there is one, is that a sprained MCL could have been significantly worse. Dart is expected to miss time early in the season, but the organization reportedly believes he avoided the kind of structural damage that would have put the whole year in question. Cold comfort, but comfort nonetheless.
Shifting to Cincinnati, where Dexter Lawrence is already making his presence felt in a major way. Daniel Jeremiah went on Move the Sticks to say Lawrence has completely changed the narrative around the Bengals defense, and the numbers barely scratch the surface. Three tackles, a tackle for loss, and a quarterback hit don't capture how disruptive he's been in the trenches through just two weeks.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
