Welcome to Markets Desk, your midday read on what's moving and why.
Equities are under pressure this Monday, with the S&P five hundred off nearly two thirds of a percent and the Nasdaq one hundred leading the decline, down close to one and a half percent. AI growth concerns are weighing on tech, while rising crude is adding cost pressure across the board — a double headwind that's keeping buyers on the sideline.
Rotating out of growth and into value appears to be the trade of the moment. The WisdomTree U.S. Value Fund pulled in roughly two hundred sixty three million dollars in fresh inflows last week, an eight percent jump in shares outstanding. When money moves that deliberately into value, it's a signal investors are repositioning, not just hedging.
On the individual mover side, Honeywell International is the standout in the Nasdaq one hundred, trading up seven and a half percent on the session and now up an extraordinary forty two percent year to date. That kind of industrial strength outperformance, on a down tape no less, tells you there's real conviction behind that name, not just a technical bounce.
That's the tape. Markets Desk, signing off the floor.
