When a tool can produce polished, confident output on almost any topic, the traditional markers of competence become much harder to read.
And then there's a data point that pushes back against some of the bigger claims in the AI space. New research examining roughly fifty-two point seven million dollars in transactions found that AI agents autonomously spending money online are, for now, largely a story we're telling ourselves. The actual volume driven by autonomous agents remains a small fraction of what the hype might suggest.
