You're tuned in to Sports Desk, let's get into it.
Aaron Judge is back, and the Yankees couldn't have picked a better moment. The three-time MVP was activated off the sixty-day injured list Monday after missing more than three months with a broken right rib. He returns Tuesday night when New York opens a home series against the Colorado Rockies, and that lineup just got a whole lot more dangerous.
Shifting to the hardwood, Coco Gauff is not done at Flushing Meadows. The defending champion dismantled eighteen-year-old fellow American Iva Jovic six to one, six to four at Arthur Ashe Stadium, punching her ticket to the quarterfinals. Gauff dropped her opening serve but then locked in completely, reeling off six straight games and never looking back. She is playing championship tennis at the right time.
And out in Los Angeles, Aaron Donald says the body feels right. The thirty-five-year-old defensive lineman came out of a two-year retirement to rejoin the Rams, and he told reporters Monday he is feeling really good. The opener is approaching fast, and if Donald is anywhere close to his former self, opposing offensive lines are already losing sleep.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
