OpenAI's chief scientist Jakub Pachocki is sounding an unusual alarm from inside one of the most powerful AI labs on the planet. Pachocki is calling for mandatory industry-wide safety standards, citing a troubling reality — that as AI models grow more sophisticated, even their creators are finding it harder to understand how those models reason. Shifting to hardware, Huawei has unveiled the MateBook Pro S, a laptop so thin and light it has genuinely turned heads — just under eight hundred grams and less than twelve millimeters thick, with a stunning flexible OLED display. The catch is a familiar one. It runs HarmonyOS rather than Windows, uses a homegrown Kirin chip built on Chinese-made silicon, and for now sells only in China. Western consumers are unlikely to ever see it on a shelf.
And from the networking world, TP-Link has launched the first Wi-Fi eight routers at IFA two thousand twenty six, but analysts and reviewers are urging patience. Unlike previous generational leaps, Wi-Fi eight does not actually deliver faster raw speeds — its improvements are more about efficiency and reliability in dense environments. If you upgraded to Wi-Fi six or seven recently, there is little reason to rush.
