The offseason was aggressive, the expectations are sky-high, but history has a way of humbling the early favorites, so Rams fans might want to temper that confidence just a touch.
Meanwhile in Green Bay, the Packers are holding out hope that Josh Jacobs makes it back on the field this season. The three-time Pro Bowl back was placed on the commissioner's exempt list after facing two misdemeanor charges, but head coach and general manager both say they've spoken with Jacobs directly and they're standing firmly in his corner. The organization believes this story isn't over yet.
And over in Detroit, the Lions are feeling a sting on two fronts. New England has officially signed undrafted rookie linebacker Erick Hunter off Detroit's practice squad, closing the door on any reunion there, while the Lions also absorbed injury news surrounding running back Isiah Pacheco, a tough blow for an offense with serious ambitions this fall.
