You're locked in to Sports Desk, let's get into it.
Aaron Donald is coming back, and the NFL is buzzing. The three-time Defensive Player of the Year has ended his retirement, signing a one-year deal with the Los Angeles Rams for one final championship run. And if that wasn't enough, Odell Beckham Jr. has made the New York Giants roster, giving the league two massive storylines before a single regular season snap is taken.
Shifting to Chicago, Pete Crow-Armstrong cannot stop hitting baseballs out of the ballpark, but the Cubs cannot find a way to win. Crow-Armstrong launched two more home runs Sunday, giving him five in two days, yet Cincinnati walked out of Wrigley with a seven to five victory. Dane Myers, Tyler Stephenson, and rookie Sal Stewart all went deep for the Reds, and that balanced attack was simply too much to overcome.
And in Boston, a city said goodbye to one of its own. Former Celtics forward Jaylen Brown received the key to the city at a block party on Boston Common, a sendoff as warm as any championship parade. After years of heart and hustle in green, Boston made sure Brown knew exactly what he meant to that town.
That's your play-by-play. Sports Desk, back to the booth.
