Francis Mauigoa made good on his word in Friday's Giants-Jets preseason clash, as the New York Giants' first-round rookie offensive lineman dominated his older brother, Jets linebacker Francisco Mauigoa, in their first-ever professional meeting. The younger Mauigoa had promised he'd get the better of big brother, and he delivered in convincing fashion.
Speaking of brothers in arms, over at MotorLand Aragon, the Marquez family had Friday's MotoGP practice looking like a personal showcase. Marc Marquez controlled the session from the jump, but it was the closest top three ever recorded on a MotoGP Friday, with Marco Bezzecchi and Alex Marquez trading fastest laps as the circuit lap record fell three separate times in the closing minutes. Stunning stuff.
And keeping an eye on the injury report out of the Jets camp, pass rusher Joseph Ossai left practice with a foot injury, which is the last thing New York's defense needs heading into the preseason stretch. The severity remains unclear, but any time you lose an edge rusher, the whole defensive equation shifts fast.
