The Houston Astros walked out of Yankee Stadium with a series win Thursday, and it was a full team effort. Four pitchers combined to hold New York to just five hits, the lineup did enough against Gerrit Cole, and just like that Houston holds a one-game division lead after a brutal stretch at home.
Shifting to the gridiron, Cleveland Browns quarterback Dillon Gabriel turned heads in the preseason finale against New England, but head coach Todd Monken isn't tipping his hand. Asked directly whether four quarterbacks make the fifty-three man roster, Monken gave nothing away — leaving one of the more interesting depth chart battles in the AFC wide open heading into cutdown weekend.
And over in Scotland, Rangers have made a serious statement in the transfer window, triggering the eight point five million pound release clause for Girona winger Kim Min-su. The twenty-year-old South Korean, who grew up in Catalonia and developed his game in Spain, signs a four-year deal with an option for a fifth. Rangers are clearly building something.
